2021 ARRL Field Day

June 26 - 27, 2021

The AARA will be conducting 2021 Field Day activities at the farm of Steve AF5VR and Mel Webre in Church Point, LA.  During the 24 hr period of this event amateur radio operators across the United States and Canada will operate from remote stations and attempt to contact as many stations as possible.  The event is open to the public including non-licensed persons interested in learning about amateur radio.  Additional details on the event can be found at W5DDL - 2021 Field Day and ARRL - 2021 Field Day.
 

2021 Tour du Teche Canoe Race

October 1 - 3, 2021

135 mile three day canoe race

Port Barre, LA to Berwick, LA

The status of the club's participation in this year's event is unknown at this time.  Additional information will be sent to the membership and posted here when it becomes available.

 

2021 Veterans Day Special Event Station

November 6, 2021

The club hopes to resume commemorating the nationwide Veterans Day celebration by conducting a Special Event Station at the Southwest Louisiana Veterans Home in Jennings, LA.  However, the status of this year's event remains in question due to the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions imposed on the facility.  Additional information will be sent to the membership and posted here when it becomes available.

 

2022 Winter Field Day

January 29, 2022

The AARA historically participates in each year's Winter Field Day event.  This 24 hour event is usually held nationwide the last weekend of January.  However, club activities are usually planned only for Saturday of that weekend.  Additional information will be sent to the membership and posted here when it becomes available.
